Reading of the text "La notte poco prima delle foreste" by Giuseppe Massa with music by Dario Mangiaracina
Coproduction OE - National premiere
rewriting and translation of "La nuit juste avant les forêts" by Bernard-Marie Koltès translation and adaptation Giuseppe Massa with Dario Mangiaracina, Giuseppe Massa music by Dario Mangiaracina
Night just before the forests is a text that gives vertigo, without punctuation, a syntactic waterfall that reminded Massa of the beat generation, bebop and pop music. Its universal themes emerge clearly: loss of identity, marginalization, absence of love. During the translation, therefore, Massa decides not to betray the author in the rhythm of the text, but to use the words and sayings collected from the darkest and abandoned streets of his city. A translation that tells how one can be foreign even in their own country, and how it is possible to die of loneliness in the era of social media.
